DESCRIPTION:On April 19th\, 1775\, Lexington’s town common made history as the site of the first shot of the Revolutionary War. From that war\, a new country was born\, and the Lexington Battle Green became known as the Birthplace of American Liberty. 250 years later\, we will gather a local group of aspiring Americans to this historic ground\, as they are formally naturalized as American citizens and become a part of our colorful national tapestry. Join us in welcoming them to the American experiment! \nThis stunning ceremony will also feature remarks from Cameron Hickey\, Lexington resident and CEO of the National Conference on Citizenship; historical context from Steve Cole\, Jr.\, Captain of the Lexington Minute Men; music by Epp Sonin\, founder of the Lexington Music School; and a welcome to our new citizens by naturalized citizen Sophia Ho\, who will share her immigration story with us. A welcome reception for our new citizens is generously sponsored by the National Conference on Citizenship. \nThis event is open to the public\, but seating is extremely limited. Please be seated by 10:45 AM. \nFree!
