DESCRIPTION:Come see Lexington Violin School & Lexington Strings play “Sounds of the 1700s” and “Americana” repertoire to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington. The performance will take place at the Waltham Street Stage Area\, located at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Waltham Street. \nThe “Sounds of the 1700s” series presents music contemporary to the April 19\, 1775 skirmish on the Lexington Battle Green. \nThe program includes: \n– Antonio Vivaldi: Concerto in G major for Solo Violin\, Strings and Continuo\, Op. 3 “L’Estro Armonico”\, No. 3\, RV 310 \n– Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Violin Concerto No. 4 in D major\, K. 218 \n– Ludwig van Beethoven: Sonata No. 3 in Eb major for Violin and Piano\, Op. 12\, No. 3 \n– Johann Sebastian Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 in G major for Violin\, Two Recorders\, Strings and Continuo\, BWV 1049 \nSeveral “Americana” pieces will also be performed. \nRepertoire includes: \n– Aaron Copland: “Hoe-Down” from his ballet Rodeo \n– Aaron Copland: Fanfare for the Common Man (arranged by Letitia Hom) \n– Battle Hymn of the Republic\, with sing-along (arranged by Letitia Hom) \nBased in Lexington\, Massachusetts since 1984\, Lexington Violin School & Lexington Strings are musicians Vida Baterina Hom\, Letitia Hom\, Yukiko Ueno Egozy and Michael Valdez.
