SUMMARY:250th Anniversary Paul Revere Midnight Ride Dinner & Candlelight Procession
DESCRIPTION:On the evening of April 18\, 1775\, Paul Revere was summoned and given the task of riding on horseback from Charlestown to Lexington\, approx. 12.5 miles\, to inform two leaders of the Sons of Liberty\, John Hancock and Samuel Adams who were staying in Lexington\, with the news that British soldiers stationed in Boston were about to march into the countryside northwest of the town. During his famous Midnight Ride\, Revere alerted the countryside of the British military movements with shouts of “the Redcoats are coming!” In the early morning on April 19\, 1775\, Capt. John Parker led 77 local militiamen and faced arriving British troops. Someone — still unknown to this day — fired a shot\, that provoked the start of the American Revolution. \nTo honor the 250th anniversary of this historic ride\, guests enjoy a special four-course Colonial-themed feast created by Executive Chef Alissa Tsukakoshi paired with local area brews and spirits from 8 pm-11 pm in a communal dining setting in Town Meeting Bistro. As a nod to Paul Revere\, a portrait of him on horseback is featured over the fireplace. This dinner is for adults only\, 21+ / $150/person\, plus tax & gratuity. \nFollowing the dinner at 11pm\, guests gather in the foyer of the Inn to receive a candle lit lantern and are guided on a 10-minute walk to the Hancock-Clark House to watch a 30-minute dramatized and theatrical reenactment as Paul Revere (and William Dawes)\, fellow Sons of Liberty\, rode hard from Boston arriving in Lexington just before midnight to warn Patriot leaders John Hancock and Samuel Adams\, who were staying in town\, of the impending British raid. \nSchedule: \n6:00 PM Dinner to start\n8:00 PM Dinner to conclude\n8:15 PM Midnight Ride Dinner guests to walk over to the Hancock-Clarke House\n10:00 PM Re-enactment begins \nBook a ticket: https://resy.com/cities/lexington-ma/venues/town-meeting-bistro/events/midnight-ride-dinner-2025-04-18?seats=2&date=2024-07-03

SUMMARY:Diwali Spectacular
DESCRIPTION:Every year\, Indian Americans of Lexington (IAL) puts on a Diwali event full of food\, mehndi\, multi-cultural performances\, and of course a dance party for the audience to join in on the artistic expression. \nThis year with the 250 celebration approaching\, Diwali feels even more important. Diwali is a time for Indians of all backgrounds to celebrate and commit ourselves to making choices that move us toward enlightenment and away from ignorance and vice. SUMMARY:Parker's Prelude (Location Update: Lexington High School)
DESCRIPTION:Location Update: Parker’s Prelude will take place at Lexington High School\nParking & Access: Please park in the main school parking lot & enter through the main entrance off Worthen Road. \nParker’s Prelude\nJoin us for a free community event to celebrate Captain John Parker’s 295th Birthday with a festive celebration on the Lexington Battle Green. Bring along a chair or blanket. There will be music\, activities\, and a one-of-a-kind birthday cake creation by Wilson Farm Bakers! Leading off the musical performances will be a joint concert of the Lexington Bicentennial Band and the Concord Band. \nCaptain Parker\n \nSeen by many as the ultimate personification of a Yankee rebel and represented by a statue standing resolutely at the head of the Lexington Common\, Captain John Parker was a New England farmer\, smith\, soldier\, and colonial militia officer. \nOn April 19\, 1775\, Parker led the Lexington Militia in a skirmish with British regulars at the Battle of Lexington\, where eight militia lost their lives in a successful delaying action against the British.
