DESCRIPTION:Commemorate the 250th anniversary of Massachusetts Militia and Minute forces preparing for war by hosting a Battalion-Level Winter Drill. \nThis will include several militia units\, and the Ladies Association of Revolutionary America (LARA)\, for public demonstrations of 18th Living History. \nThe event will be commence with a sermon by the Reverend Jonas Clarke\, followed by company and battalion-level drills on the Lexington Common. In compliance with the February 14\, 1775 orders of the Massachusetts Provincial Congress\, the officers of each company will inspect their men to “take a state of their numbers and accoutrements” within each company. \nThe schedule will be as follows: \n1 PM: Battalion Formation and Sermon by the Reverend Jonas Clarke\n1:30 PM – 2:30 PM: Company level drills\n2:30 PM to 3:15 PM: Battalion-level drill\n3:30 – 4:15 PM: Inspections of arms and equipment as ordered by the Massachusetts Provincial Congress

DESCRIPTION:Step back in time to experience the anxious hours before the start of the American Revolution. It’s past midnight on April 19th\, 1775\, and Paul Revere has just left the home of Lexington’s minister\, Jonas Clarke\, with news of an impending British attack. This leaves the home’s occupants to take in the news and prepare for what is to come.
