SUMMARY:Patriots' Day Living History at Buckman Tavern
DESCRIPTION:The Battle of Lexington reverberated far beyond the small town common that started a war. Ordinary citizens were swept up in a new revolution\, navigating its politics and picking up the pieces left behind. Stop by Buckman Tavern to hear some of these perspectives: Why did we fight in the first place? How did we care for the wounded? What role did women play in politics? How did the war impact trade\, from England all the way to China? Chat with seasoned historical reenactors to dive deep into the history of the ordinary folk of 1775. \nEvent runs 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM. In the event of rain\, displays will move inside the tavern and be included with museum admission. \nLearn more: www.lexingtonhistory.org/patriotsday

SUMMARY:Meet the Redcoats at Munroe Tavern
DESCRIPTION:The British Regular Army was one of the most powerful military forces in the world in the 18th century. But in the course of one fateful day\, their luck changed. On April 19th\, 1775\, 750 soldiers set out on a grueling 40-mile march\, and walked straight into a revolution. In Lexington and Concord\, they fought with locals intent on thwarting their mission\, and fled back to Boston chased by thousands of American soldiers.
