SUMMARY:Bike Rodeo (K-8)
DESCRIPTION:Sign your kids up for our annual Bike Rodeo to give them a healthy and fun dose of essential bike safety and handling skills! Participants first visit an array of stations including helmet fit (where we check for proper helmet fit and distribute helmets if needed)\, bike fit and bike maintenance (to ensure bike is well fitted to the youth and also safe to ride)\, students then learn some basic rules of the road and hand signals\, get to decorate their bike helmets if they like\, and then head out onto our bike course led by Certified Cycling Instructors. This event is FREE thanks to generous sponsorship by Friends of Lexington Bikeways and time donated by Lexington Cycle and Battle Road Bikes and many volunteers. Youth are signed up in half-hour increments by age and families can expect to spend about an hour in total at the event.
