📣 Light up winter and kick off an unforgettable year of #Lex250, #MA250, and #America250 celebrations!
Get ready for Illumination Night, presented by the Munroe Center for the Arts: a joyful community light and art experience that brings brightness to the deep dark days of winter. From January 5 to January 9, creative workshops (including square, cylindrical, globe, and free-form lantern making) invite participants of all ages to craft lanterns and pick up take-and-make kits from the Cary Library or the Munroe Center Little Free Library.
Then on Saturday, January 10, 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Emery Park (Depot Square), bring your lantern — even just your phone flashlight — and join in on a night of lantern light, interactive art, projection mapping, hot chocolate, campfire fun, and a community photo captured by a drone camera with the illuminated crowd. 🌟 The procession continues down to the Town Office Building for another VO250 Volunteer Arch illumination, melding creative expression with collective action.
This event reflects the spirit of this season of service and celebration — bringing people together around art, community, and light — as we continue to count up to July 4, 2026 with monthly signature events and deep engagement across Lexington.
👉 Make your lantern, join the light, and be part of LexLux! Workshops start January 5; big celebration at 4:30 pm on January 10.
