🎶 This Sunday: MLK Week Signature Concert

The 4th Annual MLK Day Gospel Concert, a soulful celebration of community, resilience, and the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, will be held on Sunday, January 18 at 2:00 PM at Follen Community Church. Through stirring voices, powerful music, and uplifting spirit, this concert honors the struggle for justice and the joy of collective courage.

Featuring performances that blend tradition and modern expression, the Gospel Concert brings together voices from across the region to celebrate freedom, hope, and unity through song. It’s a moment to reflect, rejoice, and recommit to the work of building a more just, inclusive, and compassionate society — values at the heart of both MLK’s vision and Lexington’s 2026 celebrations.

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King’s April 22, 1965 address to both Houses of the General Court of Massachusetts will be read by a Lexington High School student. During this address, Dr. King reminds us that the vision of a new nation conceived in liberty was born in Massachusetts. He also responds to the poignant question “Are we really making progress in the area of race relations?”
