In the final days leading up to April 19, the Lex250 Commission would like to highlight our members who have dedicated an incredible amount of time to making our 250th anniversary commemoration a success.
Today, we’re highlighting Jane Hundley!

What specific areas of the Commission’s work are you most passionate about?
What excites me most about Lex250 is the chance to help young people connect with the spirit of the Battle of Lexington. This wasn’t just a moment in history — it was an act of courage, a stand for beliefs that still matter today. I want students to feel that spark, to see that standing up for what’s right is part of their heritage.
What do you think is the most important aspect of commemorating this milestone?
Lexington today is a vibrant, diverse community, and that makes this work even more meaningful. We’re creating space for every student — no matter their background—to see themselves in the story of this town. Through reenactments, classroom collaborations, and youth-led projects, we’re inviting the next generation to step into that legacy — and carry it forward in their own way.
What event or moment are you most looking forward to as part of the 250th anniversary commemoration?
Of all the events, I’m most looking forward to the parade on April 19. This year, it’s going to be outstanding — and an outstanding amount of fun! The parade is a joyful moment that brings the whole community together to honor the past and celebrate who we are today.
