Riding Through History: Illumi‑neigh‑ted

🎨 Illumi‑neigh‑ted — light and legacy in motion

📍 Located between 1761 and 1775 Massachusetts Avenue

Created by Tova Speter and Emily Bhargava, Illumi‑neigh‑ted draws on themes of light, reflection, and community. The stained glass–inspired lantern motif illuminates the horse as a metaphor for both the literal lanterns carried on midnight rides and the metaphorical light of community spirit carried through Lexington’s history.

This piece underscores the idea that history isn’t just recorded — it’s reflected in each of us. Viewers are invited to see themselves in the art, as light plays across color and mirror elements. Stop by its display spot to see how art, history, and imagination intersect here in town. 🕯️🐴

Part of Lex250’s Riding Through History public art exhibit — seven life-sized fiberglass horses painted by jury-selected artists — celebrating Lexington’s equestrian heritage and the legendary rides of April 18, 1775.
