30 Days to Go – Cotting School: Ms. Norregaard’s Capstone Class
As we mark 30 days to go in the #CountdownTo250, we turn our attention to Cotting School, a beacon of learning for students with disabilities. Today, we highlight Ms. Norregaard’s Capstone class, where students ages 18-22 work towards achieving greater independence.
The Capstone program bridges the gap between school and adulthood, offering:
✅ Internships & Vocational Training – Students build career skills through hands-on work experiences.
✅ Community-Based Learning – Navigating public transit, managing finances, and developing social skills in real-world settings.
✅ Independent Living Skills – Cooking, self-care, and daily decision-making to prepare for life beyond Cotting.
✅ Self-Advocacy & Leadership – Encouraging students to take charge of their goals and future plans.
Cotting’s mission of empowerment is at the heart of this program, ensuring that each student has the opportunity to achieve their highest learning potential and level of independence.
