Lexington History Museums Presents Tea Burning Reenactment – A Lex250 Signature Event

Three days before the Boston Tea Party in 1773, our town took a bold stand against unfair British taxes by burning all its tea in a common bonfire. Lexington also issued a stirring resolution in support of Boston, declaring that anyone in town who used tea would be treated “as an enemy of this town and this country.” Now, we’re bringing that revolutionary spirit back to life!

Join us for a day of history, music, and fire!

Take part in hands-on tea activities, a children’s book reading and signing with author Sabrina Bhattacharjya, meet the Minute Men, dramatic tea burning, and sing-along with the Lexington History Museums Singers. (Full Details: https://lex250.org/event/annual-reenactment-of-lexingtons-1773-tea-party/)

Buckman Tavern open 10 AM–4 PM, decorated for the holidays with pay-what-you-can admission.

Celebrate Lexington’s defiant spirit—252 years later, the spark still burns!

The Tea Burning is annually planned and hosted by the Lexington History Museums in collaboration with the Lexington Minute Men and Chinese-American Association of Lexington (CAAL).
