As 2025 draws to a close, we reflect on a remarkable year for Lex250 and the Lexington community—one rooted in history, shaped by community, and oriented toward our shared future.
We kicked off 2025 with our daily Countdown Calendar to Patriots’ Day, which built steady momentum and public engagement, culminating in an unforgettable extended weekend of commemorative programming from April 17 to April 22. Across these days, Lexington honored its foundational role in American history, while creating space for learning, participation, and civic reflection.
Highlights from 2025 included:
✨ A Kickoff Press Conference bringing together local, state, and community leaders
🎥 A featured Conversation with Ken Burns on The American Revolution
🎖️ The Patriots’ Day Awards Ceremony, recognizing individuals who exemplify service and leadership
🚴♂️ Historic reenactments—from Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride to the Battle of Lexington at dawn—alongside the 111th Patriots’ Day 5-Mile Road Race
✈️ A Golden Knights parachute performance and Battle Green Re-dedication
🎶 A commemorative performance with Keith Lockhart and the Bicentennial Band
📜 A Naturalization Ceremony, where dozens of new Americans took the Oath of Allegiance
Together, these moments underscored that Lexington’s history is not static—it is lived, remembered, and renewed through community participation.
Looking Forward:
In 2026, Lex250, in partnership with community organizations and institutions, will continue this work through month-by-month programming. These signature events will invite reflection, dialogue, and civic engagement—recognizing that America was not formed in a single moment, and that the pursuit of a more perfect union continues.
