MLK Week of Service 2026: Service, Reflection, and a More Perfect Union

Lexington kicks off a sneak preview of MLK Week of Service 2026 with the Munroe Center’s Illumination Night and the Unity Walk/VO250 Arch Lighting on January 10, followed by a week of activities January 12 to January 19; with a concert on Sunday, January 18 and the Community Conversation on Race and Activators Fair on MLK Day itself, Monday January 19. Under the theme “The Dream at 60: Democracy, Justice, and Hope,” this week is about more than volunteering. It’s a chance to reflect on America’s promise and its imperfections, and to engage in service, dialogue, and community building.

These signature events, along with Lex250’s month-after-month 2026 programming, highlight the incredible work of community partners and dedicated volunteers, and invite all residents to step into the ongoing work of building a more perfect union.
