Moments That Made 2025 Unforgettable – #5: Golden Knights Parachute Jump

🪂 Golden Knights Over Lexington

Following the dawn reenactment, the Town of Lexington held a formal Rededication Ceremony reaffirming the Battle Green as nationally sacred ground and marking the 250th anniversary with distinction. The event brought together local, state, federal, and international leaders, including Governor Maura Healey, Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, Congresswoman Katherine Clark, America250 Chair Rosie Rios, the full state delegation, and a delegation from Lexington’s sister city, Antony, France.

The ceremony blended remembrance and pageantry, featuring remarks, a wreath-laying, and performances by the Lexington Children’s Community Chorus. The U.S. Army’s Military District of Washington underscored the national significance with appearances by the Golden Knights, Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, Army Drill Team, and Commander-in-Chief’s Guard.

A defining moment was the presentation of the “Lexington” battle streamer by Brigadier General Mark Kalin, formally affirming the battle’s foundational role in U.S. Army history. The Golden Knights’ dramatic parachute demonstration provided a powerful reminder that the courage shown in Lexington in 1775 continues to resonate today.
