Moments That Made 2025 Unforgettable – #7: Riding Through History

🏇 Riding Through History — Art Meets History

Lex250’s Riding Through History was a signature public art project commemorating the legendary midnight rides of Paul Revere, William Dawes, and Dr. Samuel Prescott. The exhibit featured seven life-sized fiberglass horses, painted by jury-selected local artists and installed throughout Lexington Center.

Each horse told a distinct story—such as “Billie,” honoring William Dawes, and “Illumi-neigh-ted,” symbolizing light and remembrance—linking the pivotal events of April 18, 1775 to contemporary community creativity.

Strategically sited and publicly accessible, the horses celebrate Lexington’s deep equestrian heritage while bringing Revolutionary history into everyday civic space. On display through 2026, Riding Through History seamlessly blended art and history, creating a lasting cultural landmark for residents and visitors alike.
