LEXINGTON — Lifelong Lexington resident Ben Soule has spent the last three years conducting painstaking research to develop a model of the town’s Second Meeting House, which stood on the Battle Green in 1775.
As Lexington prepares to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington, Soule’s 30-by-38-inch model is on display inside First Parish.
Soule, a carpenter, craftsman, and student of history who plays John Hancock in the Lexington reenactment of Paul Revere’s ride to warn settlers of the approaching Redcoats, painted the Meeting House in the colors he believes it would have appeared in as the skirmish on the Green occurred on April 19, 1775.
The model will be on display through early May at First Parish (7 Harrington Road) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Saturday, except for April 19.
WCVB recently visited Lexington to feature Soule’s model. To view the story, click here.
