47 Days to Go – Honoring Hanscom Air Force Base and the U.S. Air Force
On Monday, we celebrated Hanscom Air Force Base as our #CalendarKeepers for the #CountdownTo250 and recognized the significance of the number 47—a tribute to 1947, the year the United States Air Force became an independent branch of the military.
Braving frigid temperatures in the teens, the Hanscom team showed their dedication as they flipped the Lex250 Countdown Calendar, embodying the resilience and commitment that define their mission. Hanscom AFB plays a crucial role in national defense, acquiring advanced warfighting systems for the Air Force and sister services, including radar, communications, intelligence systems, command and operations centers, network infrastructure, and cyber defense. Their work ensures that our service members stay connected, protected, and equipped to succeed in battle and return home safely.
As we prepare to commemorate 250 years since the Battle of Lexington, we honor the men and women of Hanscom AFB who serve our country with dedication and innovation. Thank you for being part of this historic celebration!
