Friday February 28, 2025, we mark a significant milestone as we celebrate 50 Days to Go in our #CountdownTo250! As Lexington prepares to commemorate its 250th anniversary, we want to take a moment to honor those who were here 50 years ago in 1975, whether they lived here or visited.
If you were in Lexington during April of 1975 (living or visiting) please join us for special #CountdownCalendar picture. We will have TWO times to meet — 9:00 am and 7:00 pm.
In 1975, Lexington was already a community rich with history and a strong sense of pride. Many of our residents who were part of the town’s landscape during that time continue to shape our community today, bringing forward their stories, experiences, and contributions that have helped Lexington thrive. From neighbors and local leaders to those who simply passed through our beautiful town, 1975 marked a year that continues to resonate through the lives of our residents.
We also invite those who were here in 1975, either as residents or visitors, to share their memories and reflections of this transformative time in Lexington. What was it like to live or visit in Lexington then? What has changed, and what remains the same? These stories not only celebrate the past but also offer a glimpse into how far we have come as a community, providing insight and inspiration as we look to the future.
As we approach Lex250, this celebration gives us the opportunity to connect with our rich history, recognize the continued evolution of our town, and honor the residents—past and present—who have shaped Lexington into the thriving community it is today.
