45 Days to Go – Honoring Music, History, and the World Premiere of “Sound Revolutions”!
For Day 45 in our #CountdownTo250, we celebrated the power of music in bringing history to life! Our #CalendarKeepers for the day included renowned composer Dr. Dwayne Milburn, along with Toby Forman, Justin Aramati, and Angela Carpenter, dedicated music educators from Lexington Public Schools, and the talented student musicians who made this event possible.
On March 4, students from Lexington High School and Concord-Carlisle High School took the stage for “Sound Revolutions”, a special concert featuring the world premiere of a commissioned piece titled “Lexington Triptych” by Dr. Dwayne Milburn. This moving composition paid tribute to the events of April 19, 1775, connecting past and present through music.
As Lexington prepares to commemorate 250 years since the Battle of Lexington, this performance was a testament to how history continues to inspire creativity and community. We celebrate the teachers, students, and composer Dr. Dwayne Milburn for their dedication in making this extraordinary musical milestone a reality!
