94 Days to Go

Happy Birthday Dr. King! Today’s #CalendarKeepers for the #CountdownTo250 are the incredible team behind Lexington’s MLK Day of Service. This event brings our community together to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s values of service, equality, and justice.

This year’s event features a moving opening ceremony with Barbara Hamilton and Nailah Randall-Bellinger to inspire reflection on the importance of unity. The Unity Parade will celebrate the strength and diversity of Lexington, while the Community Conversation on Race, featuring Loretta Ross, offers vital dialogue about systemic inequities and racial equity. There will also be an Activators’ Fair featuring multiple organizations inspiring all of us to be #DreamersAndDoers.

Throughout the day, volunteer service projects will empower participants to make a tangible difference, while workshops, youth-focused events, and ongoing service opportunities will keep Dr. King’s dream of justice alive in our community.

This powerful day not only honors Dr. King’s legacy, but also motivates residents to take action in fostering an inclusive and equitable society. We are grateful to all who contribute to making this event such a success.
